What I Write
I write stories about people, places, and the moments that change them.
Some begin as fiction. Others begin with a camera, a journey, or a place I cannot stop thinking about. Much of my work is influenced by the countries I have travelled through, the people I have met, and the landscapes I have photographed along the way.
Action & Adventure Stories

Fast-moving stories set against the streets, mountains, coastlines, and hidden corners of Asia.
My fiction combines action, travel, relationships, and ordinary people forced into situations they never expected. The places may be real, the characters imagined, but the atmosphere often comes from somewhere I have walked, photographed, or experienced myself.
Photography Books

Photography has become another way for me to tell stories.
My photography books explore landscapes, people, streets, cultures, and everyday moments, particularly across Thailand and Asia. They are not simply collections of photographs. They are about learning to notice what is happening inside the frame and understanding why some moments stay with us.

iPhone Photography Unlocked
Better photographs begin with learning how to see.
iPhone Photography Unlocked is built around the principles that matter regardless of which camera you use: light, composition, timing, perspective, and visual storytelling.
Rather than concentrating only on settings and technology, the book looks at why photographs work and how stronger images can be created from the ordinary moments happening around us every day.
Stories Shaped By Experience
A great deal of my writing begins away from the desk.
It might start while walking through a street in Phuket, looking across a mountain valley in Nepal, watching people interact in a market, or noticing something through a camera that I would otherwise have walked past.
Travel gives me settings, photography teaches me to notice details, and people provide the questions that often become stories.

About David Hibbins Author
I am an author and photographer whose work has grown out of travel, curiosity, and a habit of looking closely at the places around me.
After many years in business, life gradually moved in a very different direction. Travel became more important. Photography became more serious. Thailand became home, and journeys through Asia and Nepal began influencing much of what I wanted to write.
Those experiences now find their way into my fiction, photography books, travel-inspired stories, and shorter pieces.
I am particularly interested in people facing change, unfamiliar places, difficult choices, resilience, and the small details that often reveal more than the obvious ones.
Whether I am writing a thriller set in Thailand or photographing an ordinary street scene, I am usually chasing the same thing: a story worth noticing.
Beyond The Books
Not every story becomes a book.
Here you’ll find short fiction, travel-inspired stories, reflections, and works in progress. Some come from places I have visited. Others begin with a photograph, a memory, a conversation, or an idea that refused to disappear.
